Dear Family and Friends of the Chapel of Sky Valley:

In case you missed the email sent out last month by Executive Committee President, Guy McKensie. I want to welcome you all to the new website for the Chapel of Sky Valley.  Most people, like myself, view websites for information but our executive committee strongly felt that a re-designed website could bring our winter and summer congregation together YEAR ROUND. Our new “interactive” website features weekly updates of Chapel news as well as my weekly sermon available for you to hear in its entirety. So now, your Chapel can be just a bit closer to you year round. Please go visit and give us your feedback as to how we could even make it better. You can find our new website by typing into your search engine  chapel at sky valley-You may need to spend a minute look for it. It begins with a bluish wide screen picture of the exterior of the chapel.  You will know it when you see it.

Thanks to the Executive Committee for their hard work and perseverance in making this happen. Also thanks to Lynn Becker and Cathy Turner for the wonderful photography their talent produced.
We will welcome feedback on the website.
Another Executive Committee endeavor will be in your computer inbox this week.  This is a survey designed by Ray Becker’s Long Term Planning Committee and is the first step in his committee’s challenge to complete a Chapel Long Term Plan by the end of this fiscal year.

We need  your input and implore you, even if you hate surveys, to assist us with this one. You will need to open the survey and complete the questions. It should take you about four minutes. There are comment boxes by important questions that we hope you will use to tell us how you really feel on any particular survey subject. Survey results will be available for your review.

Welcome to our New Website

Just about half of our Congregation is seasonal. Their absence leaves a void, not only in attendance, but in the spiritual fellowship that collectively they provide. The idea of moving toward an interactive website was the thought that if we could provide information to bring them to our website on a weekly basis, we would reciprocally feel much more in touch. So, here we are! Not only will we provide you Sunday sermons but will also keep you up to date with birthdays, prayer list and other useful information.

The Website was a collective effort of love from our Executive Committee who have worked since November to make this happen. In addition to the Executive Committee, many thanks to Cathy Turner and Lynn Becker for providing much of the photography and proof reading

Please forward any news or information that would be of interest to the Congregation and we will share it via our monthly information updates.

The Chapel is Moving Forward in the Development of a Strategic Long Term Plan

Ray Becker is heading up this committee which consists of Bruce Turner, Nancy Plate and Bishop John. The Committee will expand participation to accommodate those who have the time and interest to join us. The Committee is saving the best for the Spring return of half of our congregation. Please call Ray at 706 746 7372 or email him at skyman7887@yahoo.com if you would like to participate.

Please look forward to a Congregation Satisfaction Survey and Needs Assessment that will be popping into your email in the next week or so. Please take the time to fill it out and send it back through the email process.(Just take five minutes to complete the email and once finished the system will send back the results).

Thank You 12 Spies Vineyard & Farm

Mike Brown  and Lisa Romanello, owners of the Vineyard located at 550 Black Branch Road, Rabun Gap, have recently become a part of our spiritual family and have been donating to the Chapel celebratory wine for communion.

Please thank and  support their endeavor by stopping by to experience their selection of Meritage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Traminette, and Seyval Blanc at Georgia's newest Vineyard. Enjoy sipping your wine on multiple decks or in the gazebo overlooking our beautiful mountains.

Thank You, Green Clean

Thank you Myrna Warner and son Butch whose cleaning company Green Clean keeps our church invitingly clean. To both we thank you for your devoted service to the Lord.
